We opened in 1974 as "Dawson's Country Cottage" and were located in the Carr Building in Olde Severna Park. We moved to our present location in Park Plaza in 1986. As trends have changed, so have we.
We’ve traveled the country to bring you the best selection of exclusive gifts and accessories. From classic gifts to modern twists, we have a wide range of items for friends, family, colleagues and yourself. Susan Gauthier
Our owner started working for Dawson's Country Cottage while she was still in college. She spent the next ten years managing the store for the Dawson family. In 1986 Susan purchased the Cottage and moved to Park Plaza. She loves reinventing the store every year to stay abreast of hot trends. Her goal is to make sure that our customers have as much fun shopping at The Cottage as we do working here!
Monica Leisure
Our manager started working at The Cottage while still attending high school. Although she loved assisting customers and creating displays, she decided to take time away to get married and have three beautiful girls. Now, ten years later, she is back at The Cottage and eager to make your shopping experience fun and exciting.
Pat Lentz
Pat has served loyal Cottage customers, who have become good friends, since 1995. With her overall knowledge of our unique and vast array of merchandise, she loves helping you find the perfect gift for whomever is on your list.
Janet Ramsay
Janet has shopped and worked at The Cottage since 1986. Her love for shopping and talking to friends and neighbors is the perfect combination to make sure you enjoy shopping here! Janet works every Saturday and Sunday and has so much fun she refers to these days as her "days off."
Karen Freberger
Our designer has been creating fun eye catching displays for The Cottage visitors to shop from since 2004. Karen enjoys changing the displays with the changing seasons and merchandise. With her eye for decor, Karen can help you create a great table scape, find the perfect wall accesory or help you put together a coordinating gift basket.
D'Ann Krieger
D'Ann has been stocking our displays full of fun new items for The Cottage girlfriends since 2006. Her knowledge of Vera Bradley will help you find the perfect gift, whether it's for the pre-teen or grandmother.
Abby Redding
Abby has been greeting loyal and new customers to The Cottage since 2007. Her love for jewelry and knowledge of today's latest trends will help you pick out the perfect piece to add to your collection or make your friend smile.
